(영어 구동사) Make 를 단순히 만들다라고만 생각하면 이 글을 읽어줘

Make 를 활용하는 구동사를 알아보자.

-Make up
화해하다, 창작하다, 보충하다.
Why don't you two have a talk and make up?
They will make up a list of goods which will be on a promotion.
Anyone who fails this test will listen to the make up class.

-Make out
이해하다, 애정 표현하다.
I can't make out what the sign says.
People shouldn't make out in public.

-Make up for
만회하다.
She did some overtime last night to make up her mistake.

-Make do with
(임시 방편으로) 대충 때우다.
I usually make do with just instant food on weekdays.

-Make sure
확실하게 하다.

-Make fun of
조롱하다.

타당하다, 의미가 통하다.

구동사 글마다 하는 얘기지만, 모든 것을 외우려고 하면 본인만 힘들다. 구동사는 주단어(동사)와 옆에 다른 단어(주로 전치사랑 부사)가 결합하여 새로운 의미를 만들긴 하지만, 각 단어들의 느낌을 충분히 알고 있으면 처음 보는 표현이라도 충분히 이해 가능하다. 위 표현들도 Make 자체의 느낌을 알면 충분히 스스로 의미 추론이 가능하다.
